Ritual Items
Water
We invite you to bring a small vessel of water from your home area or a place you have traveled. This could be from a natural source (river, lake, ocean, etc.) or from the tap.
As Ben & Kimberley have done throughout their relationship, we will combine all our waters in a ritual on Saturday evening. We honor water as it gives us life, sustains us, has enabled us to reach this milestone, and connects us all together. At the end of the event, we will release these waters onto the Earth as a way of sharing our love with the world.
Altar Item
When you arrive, we will invite you to help build a communal altar. We encourage you to bring a meaningful and/or beautiful object from home or that you collect on the land. Youβll take your item home when you leave or may offer natural items to the Earth.
Photos
Please upload any photos you take during the event to this shared album.
Friday
Also, we invite you to join us for Temple Emanuelβs Shabbat service on Friday, January 12, at 7:30 pm, featuring a special guest speaker: Reverend Dr. Heber M. Brown, III.
Rev. Brown has been a catalyst for personal transformation and social change for more than twenty years. A dynamic orator, Rev. Brown will speak about the Black Church Food Security Network, which he founded. This project advances food security and food sovereignty by co-creating Black food ecosystems anchored by Black congregations in partnership with Black farmers and others.
